Summer Internship : Systems Engineering

D A LABS is looking for summer interns to work alongside our systems engineering team. An ideal candidate should have a strong familiarity with both Linux and Windows operating systems. Our interns will be introduced to operating systems interaction, encompassing typical enterprise environments such as local networking, LDAP authentication, virtual private networks, management utilities, J2EE application servers, web servers and databases.

We are looking for candidates who can quickly answer their own questions in the "fill in the blank" (i.e. computer regeneration, computer programming, cyber security, etc) field. For example, if you have ever compiled a FreeBSD kernel, or re-packaged an RPM from the source, this is probably a good fit for you.

Working within D A LABS, you will become familiar with the US Department of Defense's enterprise security as outlined by the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG). Using that process, an intern will run the Defense Information Systems Agency's (DISA) Security Requirements Review scripts. These are the fundamental building blocks for the DoD's security posture. A firm understanding of this area will put candidates at the top of recruiting lists for careers in cyber security with many intelligence agencies.

Application for a DoD Security Clearance is a prerequisite and must be completed and approved prior to beginning work. Candidates will be contacted in early April to complete the necessary paperwork and interim clearances are usually granted in under 10 business days.

Interns must be able to work the full summer season from May 21 - Aug 17. D A LABS offices are located at the Court House stop on the Orange Metro line in Arlington, Virginia.
Serving our clients and their stake-holders since 2005.
